I started my career in architectural design straight from school, and was lucky to have been taken in by a small practice who mentored me, arming me from the outset with an inquisitive mind and the design skills and technical competence to move forward quickly through my professional studies and indeed my subsequent career. Which is in part why I am such a big advocate for mentorship programmes and nurturing the next generation of designers and strategists - they are the future.
Initially studying to be an Architectural Technician/Technologist and then moving on to study Architecture and finally Interior Architecture & Design. Led me to a thirst for life-long learning and as such I am now contiunuing my studies further. Currently studying for my Doctor of Design (DDes) PhD which is allowing me to align my professional day job in Strategy with my life-long passion for Design and Problem Solving.
Aligning the professional work I do with this research based study is allowing me to bring maximum value to all areas of my work-study-life, and allowing me to keep pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
Particularly relevant in these unprecedented times.
